Error message

the manifest.rush `rush` leaf names another engine: %s (%s)

In the message, %s marks a value that the engine fills in when it raises the error.

The story

Your manifest was written for a different version of rush than the one running it. Let's see how the pin works. In manifest dot rush you can write a rush line with a quoted text, such as six point fifty-four. That is a promise: this project was written for that major and minor version of the engine. When the engine loads the manifest, it compares the pin with its own version. If they match, all is well. If they do not, rush stops, and it tells you which version it is and how to spell the pin correctly. It also refuses a pin that is not a quoted text, such as a bare number, because the spelling is part of the law. And there is no backwards compatibility, by design. A newer engine will not pretend to be an older one. Picture upgrading the engine and then loading a project pinned to the old version. The message shows what it expected. The fix is to update your project for this engine and change the pin, or to run it with the engine it was written for.
