The story

Your rows dot where call asked its question in a confusing way. Here is the rule. Rows dot where answers one of two questions per call. The first: which records have this exact value in this column? You write column, a colon, the name, and value, a colon, the value. The second: which records match this condition? You write filter, a colon, and a nested condition map. Pick one. Now, what is refused? Giving both, giving neither, or giving a column without its value. Why? Because if you gave both, someone would have to remember which one wins, and a rule like that is invisible in the code. Rush prefers one clear way per call, so the reader sees the question at a glance. The first slot names the row, and the second slot shows the two lawful spellings. Picture a table of people. To find everyone whose city is Lisbon, use column and value. To find everyone older than thirty and living in Lisbon, use a filter. Choose one, and the answer will be exactly what you asked.
