Error message
In the message, %s marks a value that the engine fills in when it raises the error.
The story
A builtin was handed an argument that does not match what its documentation page says it takes. This is a refusal about the shape of the call. Maybe you gave a text where a map was needed. Maybe a required key is missing. Maybe you gave two keys that the page says cannot be used together. Or maybe the word you used for a kind is not one the row knows. The important part: the row has not done anything yet. The engine refuses before the row acts, so nothing was written, nothing was read, nothing outside was touched. That is also why there is no outside reason in the message. Nobody outside was asked. The message gives you the row, and then it quotes the page's own sentence about what the row takes. So you do not even have to go and look it up. Read that sentence, compare it with your call, and adjust. The page is the contract, and the message holds it right in front of you.
